At the tail end of April, EXPO CHICAGOmakes its way to Chicago’s Navy Pier on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. “Looking ahead to the 2025 edition of EXPO CHICAGO, we’re excited to showcase an incredible lineup of curatorial talent, gallery presentations, special projects and collaborations aimed at engaging new audiences,” says Tony Karman, president and director of EXPO CHICAGO. “With the continued support of Northern Trust, EXPO CHICAGO remains a vital hub for collectors, artists, curators, architects, designers and all those passionate about art.”

New initiatives for 2025 include a partnership with the Galleries Association of Korea, in which a selection of 20 leading Korean galleries will be showcased within the fair’s core “Galleries” section. The 2025 fair will also feature a new section titled CONTRAST, curated by Lauren Haynes, head curator at Governors Island Arts and vice president for Arts and Culture at the Trust for Governors Island. Haynes is a specialist in contemporary African American art, with nearly two decades of experience at art institutions across the country.

Additional special programming include Dialogues, a series of panel discussions, conversations and artistic discourse with leading artists, curators, designers and arts professionals; IN/SITU, where exhibiting galleries showcase large-scale installations, suspended works, sculpture, film, video, new media and performative works by leading international artists; as well as numerous temporary public art installations situated along the Lakefront and throughout Chicago neighborhoods. Among the curatorial programs are the Directors Summit, the Curatorial Exchange and the Curatorial Forum, developed by EXPO CHICAGO and Independent Curators International. Visit the fair’s website for more details on each of these initiatives.
